System 3 Software today announced the opening of its first international subsidiary with immediate effect.

The announcement comes as the prestigious British Publisher gears itself up for its most ambitious expansion plans to date.

System 3 Japan Ltd will operate out of Tokyo and be headed up by Takeshi Shimizu. Former Board Director and Chief Producer at Opus, Japan’s leading independent developer producing content for the likes of Ocean, Eidos, Capcom and Crave, he has more recently focused on the evolving mobile markets where games can be played using app.

The utilisation of Mr Shimizu’s profound territory knowledge and sound business judgement in the Asian marketplace offers System 3 an instant solution to their expansion plans and affords the company the luxury of not having to worry about teething troubles and new-business introductions normally associated with any start-up operation.

Mark Cale, CEO System 3 Software Ltd, is excited by the new development;

System 3 Japan Ltd will bring a whole host of award winning back-catalogue titles to market as well as provide a sound launch pad for future releases across all platforms. The company will now hit the ground running.

The first titles inked for release include Ferrari: The Race Experience and real-life pinball simulation Williams Pinball Classics. Ferrari: The Race Experience represents the latest incarnation of System 3’s critically acclaimed racing game license and has been described quite simply as “The most accurate simulation of racing available on a console.” Williams Pinball Classics features incredibly accurate recreations of the 10 most popular Williams tables of all time, delivering a stunning variation of a classic gaming theme.
